Overview:
To create an online platform that can be used to quickly and easily, construct and publish template based web sites.
Requirement:
The need was to create a platform that could be used to rapidly create custom websites with zero technical support. The platform needed to be expandable with easily managed plug-ins and support templates and skins for quick changes to look and feel.
The Challenge:

  • To create a flexible solution that worked for the large majority of their needs
  • To enable flexibility in adding modules or integrating with external components
  • To allow for easy creation of websites by combining available modules
  • To provide flexible mechanisms of creating content and presentation
The Solution:
DotNetNuke (DNN) was identified as the platform for this solution combined with multiple configurable modules to enhance its capabilities.
DotNetNuke (DNN)
DNN is a development framework that enables businesses to quickly build and deploy feature-rich, interactive websites and applications in Microsoft environments. Through an intuitive, menu-driven interface, even non-technical users can use DotNetNuke to easily create new sites or extend the functionality and features of existing web applications.
How TIS Delivered Success
TIS built a solution that allows sites to be configured based on components in the system (modules in DNN). The solution allows for creation of websites (domains or portals) dynamically, based on preconfigured modules within the solution structure. It also allows for managing of content for publication within each of these sites. The common platform is built to completely replace disparate systems currently used for maintaining and publishing these multiple websites.
Individual site administrators can configure their sites based on their specific requirements by simply adding and organizing modules on the site pages. Administrators are also able to bundle or combine such pages together and publish a website or portal. The top level administrator can add components or modules as needed and these will then be available for all websites within that structure.
The solution allows for a great level of flexibility in changing the appearance of any of the websites through easy skinning options.
