What is Business Intelligence

Hosted BI Solutions
Though strategic level management and executives recognize the importance of BI systems, they are constrained to implement them because of high cost and implementation time.
TIS helps to cure this headache of CEOs, CIOs and CFOs by providing outsourced analysis, reporting and BI solutions, which will provide the same BI capabilities as an in-house implementation for those who do not want in-house implementations but need analytical reporting, visual aids and other BI capabilities .
TIS offer real-time, automated business intelligence in the form of visual dashboards, reporting capabilities and on-line analytics, without investing in hardware or software.
This service offering is of two types:
Model I:
TIS and client agree on reporting and analysis needs, fix the output requirements, and contract for delivery of those output requirements. The client sends the data to TIS (or TIS reaches into the company’s infrastructure layer to extract it) on a regular frequency, where it gets assimilated into the reporting and analytic package the company accesses through users. Extensions to the model are done through change requests, each requiring a development and delivery cycle, SLA, and license model. It essentially acts as an outsource service supplier. TIS take data from clients and delivers back analysis used to make decisions. Under this model, the complete infrastructure is deployed at TIS.
Model II:
TIS and client agree on reporting and analysis needs, fix the output requirements, and contract for delivery of those output requirements. The data is extracted from the client's existing infrastructure and loaded into the BI infrastructure on a regular frequency, where it gets assimilated into the reporting and analytic package the company accesses through users. Extensions to the model are done through change requests, each requiring a development and delivery cycle, SLA, and license model. It essentially acts as an outsource service supplier. Under this model, the complete infrastructure is deployed at the client's end.
The spectrum of offering above covers following components -
  • BI products — Tools that provide information gathering, analytics, and presentation of data to end users.
  • Analytic infrastructure — Infrastructure to store, organize, and prepare data for reporting and analysis.
  • Dashboard — Tools and/or applications that help businesses track key performance indicators (KPI's) by providing a unified view of organizational performance data and options on a timed or near real-time and integrated basis.
  • Analytic applications — Delivered applications that accurately gather, unify, coordinate, and analyze company-wide or content-specific data. Financial consolidation and reporting is an example of this type of application.
